HAUS DACHERÖDEN: EXHIBITION OPENING EGON ZIMPEL

On Saturday, the Kulturhaus Dacheröden will host the exhibition opening around the painter and activist Egon Zimpel.

As a founding member of the “Stiftung Krämerbrücke” and the Kinoklub Erfurt, director of countless art courses in which he supported young people in their artistic development, and as co-initiator of the association “Neues Schauspiel Erfurt”, Egon Zimpel (1943-2022) was closely linked to Erfurt’s cultural scene since the 1980s.

The retrospective now shows paintings and graphic cycles from his extensive estate, the

passion for theater, sensitive portraits, and impressions of his travels through the desert. Selected photographs and personal documents sketch the life of an uncomfortable, restless contemporary who always provoked a look beyond his own nose.

At the exhibition opening, friends and companions will commemorate the artist Egon Zimpel in short speeches and art contributions and create a varied evening, including Wolfgang Zweigler (Krämerbrücke Foundation, Chairman of the Board of Trustees), Birgit Kummer (journalist), Dirk Fromberger (estate administrator, Krämerbrücke Foundation), Cornelia Nowak (curator Graphic Collection Angermuseum), Marie-Luise Leonhardt-Feijen (visual artist), Johannes Kaiser (metal designer) and many others. The opening will be musically accompanied by Verena Henniger on double bass.

Registration via the form below, but it is also possible to come spontaneously.
